The owner of a 2002 Melrose Bobcat contacted the Cathedral City Police Department to report that his Commercial Construction equipment was stolen in Cathedral City.
The Cathedral City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Melrose Bobcat.

Within 16 minutes officers from the Cathedral City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Melrose with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Melrose to a rural area in the open desert near the intersection of Dinah Shore and Crossley in Cathedral City.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Melrose Bobcat in February 2004 via Commercial Sales in Riverside, California.
