The owner of a 1999 Ford Mustang contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report his vehicle was stolen from his condo parking lot. The LVMPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within five minutes after the activation officers from the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the Ford unoccupied. The Ford was recovered, towed for safekeeping and will be released back to the owner. This is the second time the Ford has been reported stolen and recovered by law enforcement with the assistance of LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang in June 1999 by Downey Ford Auto Center in California.
