The owners of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Escondido Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Escondido.
The Escondido PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later officers from the Escondido PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to a commercial parking lot located near the 2100 block of Citrado Parkway in the city of Escondido.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in October 2013 at Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa, California.
