The owner of a 2007 Mercedes GL450 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner had parked his Mercedes with a valet service at a hotel and went traveling to Europe. While in Europe, he was informed by the hotel that his Mercedes was missing.
The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Later, officers from the Irving Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Mercedes to the 700 block of E 6th St, where they observed it traveling westbound. Officers were able to stop the stolen Mercedes and arrest the driver. The driver admitted knowing that the Mercedes was stolen and said that his roommate actually stole it. He stated that his roommate was an ex-valet that had worked for the hotel that the Mercedes was stolen from. An arrest warrant for the roommate is pending. The Mercedes was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes GL450 in June 2007 at the House of Imports in Buena Park, California.
