The owners of a 2009 Honda Odyssey contacted the Orem Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their home. An officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later an officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department on his way into the city on I-15 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. This officer relayed the information to the American Fork Police Department who deployed a detective with a PTC. The detective quickly picked up the signal, tracked and located the stolen Honda by following the directional and audible cues from the PTC. The stolen Odyssey van was recovered unoccupied and after being process for evidence released to the very surprised and happy owners who were impressed on how quickly their stolen vehicle was recovered by law enforcement.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Odyssey in California in 2010 at the request of a previous owner of the van.
