The owners of a 2013 Honda CRV contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of San Bernardino.

The San Bernardino County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 12 minutes officers from the Palm Springs Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to a commercial gas station in the city of Palm Springs. A suspect was seen sleeping inside the Honda and was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda CRV in October 2015 at Auto Land Corporation in Chatsworth, California.
