The owners of an Acura Integra contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The Fresno PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

Less than 15 minutes after the Acura was entered into the stolen vehicle system an officer from the Selma Police Department, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Acura to the parking lot of an apartment complex in central Selma. The Acura was found unoccupied and abandoned in the parking lot. In searching the Acura, officers located three stereos and a stereo amplifier. They also located assorted personal paperwork for a residence in Selma. Detectives are checking the property and paperwork in hopes of developing leads to this and other crimes.

The Acura was recovered intact and undamaged; it was stored pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in February 1998 by Cush Acura in Escondido, California.
