The owner of a 2010 Toyota Corolla contacted the San Diego County Sherriff’s Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from her residence in the city of Lemon Grove.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 17 minutes deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to a commercial area located at Main Street and Broadway in Lemon Grove.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in February 2011 by Frank Motors Toyota in National City, California.
