The owners of a 2015 Toyota Rav4 contacted the Union City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated sometime during the night someone took his Toyota from in front of his residence.
The Union City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Just 15 minutes later, officers from the San Leandro Police Department and Oakland Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the area of 163rd and Mateo Blvd in San Leandro, where they observed it parked and abandoned on the street.

The Toyota was undamaged and towed for safe keeping to be released to the owner later.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Rav4 in January 2015 by Lodi Toyota in California.
