The owners of a 1993 Acura Integra contacted the Rialto Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

A short while later deputies from San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Central Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the Acura to E. Orange St and Wall where the stolen Acura was located parked in front of a residence.  Contact was made with residents and a “protective sweep” was initiated.  While checking the rear yard, the deputies noted a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado that was stripped of its engine.  A check of that Chevrolet revealed that it had been reported stolen.  The investigation revealed a name of a suspect who was the person responsible for bringing the vehicles to the property. Deputies contacted the suspect and took him into custody.  Both vehicles were recovered and stored for safe keeping. Note, this was the third time this Acura had been stolen and recovered with LoJack in the past two years.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura Integra in August 2000 by Long Beach Honda in California.
