The owners of a 2010 Toyota Corolla contacted the Sacramento Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim indicated they were awoken by the sound of the Toyota driving away from in front of their residence.
The Sacramento PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Corolla.
Just 15 minutes later, officers from the Citrus Heights Police Department, Sacramento Police Department and California Highway Patrol Air 21 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the 8200 block of Cal Vine and observed it parked in a parking lot. The Toyota did not sustain any damage, was towed and stored for safe keeping to be released to the owner later.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla by Roseville Toyota in California.
