The owners of a 2005 Lexus IS300 contacted the California Highway Patrol North Sacramento Area to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim indicated the Lexus was taken without his permission and was told a female known to him was seen driving the vehicle.  His attempts to locate the Lexus have been fruitless, so he wants to report it stolen.

The CHP verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Ten minutes later officers from the Sacramento Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to the area of Leisure Lane and Expo Blvd and observed the vehicle being driven by a female suspect. The officers conducted a felony stop and took the suspect into custody without incident.

The victim was contacted, responded to the scene and took possession of his now recovered vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus IS300 in April 2008 by Lexus of Sacramento in California.
