The owners of a 2001 Dodge Durango contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.
The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to the area of Glendale Avenue and 25th Drive in Phoenix.

The officers located the stolen Dodge on a side street and observed the suspect walking away from the vehicle. The suspect was detained without incident. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested and booked for the theft of the Dodge. The Dodge was processed for evidence and later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Durango in September 2001 by Glendale Dodge in California.
