The owners of a 2015 Ford Mustang GT contacted the Alhambra Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mustang GT.

A short while later the Pasadena Police Department Flight Officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mustang with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the Mustang to the city of Glendale where they located the vehicle parked in a market parking lot on Foothill Blvd in La Crescenta. Checking the scene with their Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR), they noted the Mustang seemed cold with no engine heat displayed. The flight officers notified the Glendale PD. The Glendale PD officers arrived and were in the process of calling a tow truck when a male suspect exited the market and walked up to the Mustang. This subject was detained and identified as the named theft suspect. He was arrested and later booked for the theft. The Mustang was stored and later released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang GT in April 2015 by Vista Ford Lincoln Mercury in Woodland Hills, California.
