The owner of a 2000 Honda CRV called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen from their residence during the overnight hours. The LVMPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 4 minutes of the activation, Officers with the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officers tracked the Honda a couple of miles away from the original theft location. The Officers located the Honda parked and unoccupied. The Officers recovered the Honda and released the vehicle to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda CRV in April 2002 by Long Beach Honda in California.
