The owner of a 1997 Honda Accord called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen from their apartment parking lot within a short time period during the early morning.  The LVMPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 15 minutes of the activation, Officers with the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officers tracked the Honda and found it unoccupied.  The Officers recovered the Honda and released the vehicle to the owner.  This was the third time this Honda has been reported stolen, tracked by law enforcement via LoJack and recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in September 1998 by Miller Mitsubishi in Van Nuys, California.
