The owner of a 2014 Ford Edge contacted the Cathedral City Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Cathedral City.

The Cathedral City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later, officers from the Desert Hot Springs Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to Ramon Street in Desert Hot Springs. Three suspects were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Edge in September 2014 by Star Ford in Glendale, California.
