The owners of a 2007 Toyota Tacoma contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Oceanside.

The Oceanside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 20 minutes, officers from the Carlsbad Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota Tacoma with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to a commercial area and found it parked outside a motel near the 700 block of Macadamia Drive in Carlsbad.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tacoma in August 2007 by Toyota of Temecula in California.
