The owner of a 1996 Acura Integra contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen from the area of Broadway and Garfield in the Valley Area Command.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

Within five minutes of the activation, Officers with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their marked patrol vehicles.  Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Acura to a commercial office complex in the area of San Mateo and Phoenix in the Northeast Area Command.  Officers located the Acura parked and unoccupied with all of its bumper stickers removed; often times done in an attempt to alter the vehicle’s personal identifiers and elude capture by law enforcement.  The Acura was processed for evidence and will be released back to the owner.
