The owner of a 2010 BMW 650I contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

A short while later officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to a residential neighborhood located in the 2200 block of Royale Crescent Court in San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW in December 2010 by New Century BMW in Alhambra, California.
