The owners of a 2002 Acura MDX contacted the Garden Grove Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.

The Garden Grove PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

Only five minutes later officers from the Anaheim Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Acura to a motel on Beach Blvd. in the city of Anaheim. The officers found the Acura parked and unoccupied in the motel parking lot.  The officers conducted an investigation and were able to locate and arrest a suspect staying in one of the motel rooms.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura MDX in December 2001 by Metro Acura in Montclair, CA.
