The owner of a 2012 Volkswagen CC contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from her residence in the city of San Marcos.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

Within 12 minutes, deputies from the San Diego County SD San Marcos station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen CC with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Volkswagen to a commercial area and found it abandoned at the 500 block of San Marcos Road in San Marcos.
