The owner of a 2007 Dodge Caliber contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the unincorporated area of San Diego County.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego Police Department, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to a residential area near the 9200 block of Twin Trails Drive in the city of San Diego.  A high risk stop was initiated after a suspect was found driving the Dodge.  The driver was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Caliber in March 2006 by Fullerton Dodge in Fullerton, California.
