The owner of a 2012 Mazda A3 contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from in the city of Escondido.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

A short while later, deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda A3 with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Mazda to a commercial hotel area near the 54000 block of Kuutpat Circle in Valley Center where it was found abandoned.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of a female suspect for possession of stolen property, vehicle theft and possession of controlled substance.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda in January 2012 by Riverside Metro Auto Group in Riverside, California.
