The owner of a 1997 Honda Accord parked her vehicle in the parking lot of a local dance studio.  When she exited the dance studio the Honda was missing.  The owner contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the Honda as stolen.

The LVMPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 40 minutes of the activation, an Officer from the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officer tracked the Honda to about eight blocks away from the dance studio and found the vehicle to be abandoned.  The Honda was released back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in August 1997 by Auto Nation Honda in Costa Mesa, California.
