The owners of a Honda Civic contacted the Unified Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.

An officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Later officers from the Unified PD and West Valley PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC officers with the West Valley PD tracked the Civic to the area of 2100 W and 3100 S.  There officers found the Civic parked and unattended.  They initiated a surveillance of the Civic to see if suspects would return to the vehicle.  When that didn’t happen the Civic was recovered and returned to the very happy owners.

This Honda Civic has been stolen three times; twice before in California and this third time in Utah.  Each time the LoJack in the vehicle has helped law enforcement make a quick recovery of the vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in 1999 by Spreen Honda in Loma Linda, California.
