The owner of a 2012 Scion TC contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion TC with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Scion to the 2200 block of Wightman Street, in San Diego.  The Scion was found abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion TC in February 2012 by Toyota Chula Vista, California.
