The owners of a 2004 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Anaheim Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.

The Anaheim PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Only three minutes later a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department airship picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the airship tracked the Cadillac to the 605 freeway.  The airship broadcast to the LASD Lakewood patrol deputies that the Cadillac was exiting the freeway at Del Amo Boulevard.  A LASD Lakewood patrol deputy spotted the stolen Cadillac as it exited the freeway.  The deputy conducted a stop on the Cadillac and detained the driver and sole occupant. When the deputy contacted the driver he stated he knew he made an error in judgement by driving the stolen Cadillac.  The subject was arrested for the theft of the Cadillac and the vehicle was recovered without damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade in September 2004 by Renick Cadillac in Fullerton California.
