The owners of a 2006 Case skid steer contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office to report that their machine was stolen in a burglary at the business.

The San Bernardino County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Case.

Forty-four (44) minutes later, the SBSO Adelanto Station patrol deputies picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen case with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. An additional deputy, along with detectives from SANCATT, responded to the location. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Case was tracked to the area of La Mesa and Seneca. The Case was concealed behind some bushes. Investigation revealed that the suspect had driven the Case approximately one mile from the owner’s business.

The Case was released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Case skid steer in March 2006 via Commercial Sales in Burlington, Iowa.
