The owners of a 2007 Dodge Charger contacted the La Mesa Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of La Mesa.

The La Mesa PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

Within 19 minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to a residential neighborhood near 14th Street and Island Ave. A high risk stop was made and one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge in March 2008 at Enterprise Victorville in California.
