The owners of a Lexus RX300 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later officers from the Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to a commercial parking lot located in the area of East Lake Park Way and Corte Vista in Chula Vista.  A female sitting in the driver’s side was arrested; the passenger was later identified and also arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
