The owners of a 2004 Nissan Murano contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Las Vegas MPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan Murano.

The next afternoon, 600 miles away and in another state, officers from the Stockton Police Department and the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to the area near River Point Center Park.

The officers observed the Nissan parked and several suspects standing around the vehicle. Officers approached and interviewed the individuals. It was determined a male and female had driven the Nissan from Las Vegas the evening before. These two individuals were then placed under arrest for auto theft and receiving stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Murano in February 2006 by Connell Nissan in Costa Mesa, California.
