The owner of a 2008 Lexus RX350 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus RX350 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to a commercial hotel parking lot near the 11000 block of Bernardo Plaza Court, in San Diego.  The Lexus was found abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus RX350 in June 2007 by Lexus Kearny Mesa, in San Diego, California.
