The owner of a 2005 Toyota Tundra contacted the Indio Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Indio.

The Indio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 18 minutes, officers from the Indio PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota Tundra with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to a commercial area near Jackson and Indio Blvd. in the city of Indio.  A high risk stop was initiated after officers observed a suspect driving the Toyota.  The driver was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tundra in September 2005 by I-10 Toyota in Indio, California.
