This Toyota Corolla was stolen from the owner’s residence in the 7900 block of 196th Street SW in Edmonds. The theft occurred four days before it was reported. It was taken without permission by a family member. Efforts to contact her were not successful.

The theft was reported to the Edmonds Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Just five minutes after activating the LoJack, the Gresham Police Department officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Toyota was located in the 3200 block of SE 178th Avenue in Gresham. One person, who was near the Toyota, was taken into custody and was booked into jail.
The Toyota did not appear to be damaged.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in May 2005 by Moreno Valley Toyota in California.
