The owners of a 2015 BMW 328I contacted the California Highway Patrol to report that their vehicle was purchased and stolen through fraudulent means in the city of San Diego.

The California Highway Patrol verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Within 26 minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to a residential neighborhood near the 7700 block of Knightdale where the vehicle was found abandoned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 328I in December 2014 by BMW of San Diego in California.
