The owners of a 2006 Ford F250 contacted the Ft. Bend Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen their residence sometime during the overnight period.

The Ft. Bend SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from the Houston Police Department  picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to a residential area off of I-45 and Parker Road. Officers observed the Ford parked in the driveway of a house and when they approached they observed an additional pickup in the attached garage that was partially stripped. Auto theft officers obtained consent to search and identified both vehicles as stolen. The person in charge of the residence was arrested and charged with two counts of felony theft.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Ford F250 in October 2006 by Redlands Ford Inc. in Redlands, California.
