The owners of a 2007 GMC Yukon contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC.

A short while later, detectives from the LA County TRAP (Taskforce for Regional Auto Theft Prevention) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GMC with their portable LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are assigned to their unit. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the GMC to the area of the 8500 block of Rubio Ave. The GMC was located in a transmission shop.  Three suspects were taken into custody without incident.

The GMC was impounded as evidence.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC in July 2006 by Dutton Motor Company in Riverside, California.
