The owners of a 2003 BMW 330 contacted the Ontario Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Approximately 30 minutes later, officers from the Azusa Police Department and the Glendora Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officers from Azusa tracked the BMW from Alosta Ave and Barranca to the 300 block of A St and located the vehicle parked and occupied by one male adult.  When back up units arrived, they deployed on the BMW taking the suspect into custody without further incident.  Officers from Ontario PD were notified and responded taking the suspect into their custody pending further investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 330 in November 2002 by Beverly Hills BMW in California.
