The owners of a 2009 Honda Accord contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within four (4) minutes from activation, officers from the Alhambra Police Department assisted by Police Helicopter Air-1 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda from the area of Mission and Margarita to Marengo Ave and Alhambra Rd where the vehicle was observed travelling by the air unit.  Officers quickly responded and affected a felony traffic stop taking the male adult into custody without further incident. A field investigation revealed that the suspect was a “Parole at Large”.  He was later booked for the vehicle theft and Parole Violation.  The undamaged Honda was stored for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in July 2009 by Sierra Auto Cars Honda in Monrovia, California.
