The owners of a 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Vista.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Within 8 minutes, officers from the Carlsbad Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes C230 with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to a residential area and found it abandoned near Clear Cliff Road in Carlsbad.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz C230 in February 2007 by Mercedes Benz of San Diego, California.
