The owner of an Acura Integra contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

A short while later, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Acura to a residential area near the 400 block of Bougher Road in the city of San Marcos.  A high risk stop was initiated after Investigators observed two suspects enter and drive the Acura.  The driver and passenger were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura Integra in May 1997 by Tustin Acura, in California.
