The owner of a Honda Civic contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from her residence in the city of Vista.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 11 minutes, deputies from the San Diego County SD Vista station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda and found it abandoned at the 600 block of West California Street in Vista.

The Honda had previously been stolen twice, tracked and recovered with the LoJack® System.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota in August 2000 by Bell Honda in Phoenix, Arizona.
