The owner of a white 2015 Mercedes Benz C-300 contacted the San Diego Police Department RATT to report the vehicle as stolen.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Officers from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and VIPER Detectives picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the Mercedes parked in a local casino’s valet back lot.  The Las Vegas Metro PD and VIPER team set up surveillance on the Mercedes and began their investigation.  Two subjects went to valet requesting to pick up the stolen Mercedes and both were taken into custody.  One subject was determined not to be originally involved with the stolen Mercedes and was released.  The other subject was identified as a suspect and arrested at the scene.  The suspect was booked for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and an extraditable warrant out of San Diego.

The Mercedes was recovered and will be returned to the owner.
