The owners of a 2014 Ford Mustang contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  The LAPD Southeast verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford Mustang.

A short while later deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department South Los Angeles picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Ford Mustang to a residential street in the city of Los Angeles.  The deputies found the Ford parked and abandoned. The deputies recovered the undamaged Ford Mustang and later returned it to its owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang in March 2014 by Galpin Ford in North Hills, CA.
