The owners of a 2013 Audi S5 contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  The LASD Marina Del Rey verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi S5.

Only four minutes later deputies from the LASD Marina Del Rey picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Audi to a hotel parking lot in Marina Del Rey where they found the Audi S5 parked and abandoned.  The deputies recovered the undamaged Audi and released it to its owner all within 40 minutes.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi S5 in May 2005 by Direct Sales.
