The owners of a 2005 Mercedes Benz contacted the Pasadena Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Pasadena PD officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes Benz.

A short while later, the Los Angeles Police Department “Air 18” flight officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes Benz with the on board LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in air units.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the flight officers tracked the Mercedes to the area of 8th Street and Catalina Ave. Patrol units from the LAPD Olympic division responded to the location. The officers observed the Mercedes and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody for auto theft related charges.

The Mercedes was released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in March 2006 by Rusnak Arcadia in Arcadia, CA.
