The owners of a 2010 Mercedes Benz contacted the Hemet Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Hemet.

The Hemet PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Within 30 minutes, officers from the Hemet PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes Benz ML350 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to a residential neighborhood located near the intersection of San Jacinto and Florida Street in Hemet.  One suspect was detained driving the Mercedes Benz; he was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in March 2010 by Mercedes Benz of Encino, in Encino, California.
