The owner of a 2009 Mercedes Benz SLK300 contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the vehicle as stolen.  The victim advised the offender was possibly known and had also taken other items from the residence.

The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

A short time later, officers from the Las Vegas Metro PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the Mercedes parked and unoccupied.  Charges are pending for the offender.

The Mercedes was recovered and will be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in May 2008 by Mercedes Benz of Laguna Niguel, California.
