The owners of an Acura Integra contacted the Exeter Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence. The Exeter PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

About fifteen minutes later an officer from the Corcoran Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer began tracking the moving Acura near downtown Corcoran. The officer spotted the Acura, occupied by an adult male whom the officer recognized as a known car thief. An enforcement stop was made; the driver was detained and later arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. The Acura was recovered intact and undamaged; it was stored pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura in February 1991 at Acura 101 in Calabasas, California.
